ESIR – European Social Innovation Review

ESIR is an interdisciplinary European Journal on social innovation knowledge and practices, launched 2016.

The European Social Innovation Review (ESIR) is edited by

ESIR is fully open access and its mission is to research and facilitate social innovation in the business sector, non-profit organisations, knowledge organisations, and public sector organisations by serious theoretical and methodological inquiry, exploring implications for innovation policies as well as of social innovation management.

ESIR publishes three types of theoretical and practical articles, in order to disseminate knowledge, practices and experience in social innovation:

Research articles, presenting conceptual, empirical and methodological articles on social innovation (papers up to 6,000–7,500 words)
Case studies, presenting practices in context, methods applied, impact and experiences (3,000–4,500 words)
Provocative papers, presenting speculative ideas, critical approaches, futures and perspectives that may be used to explore and understand upcoming or overlooked issues concerning social innovation (2,000–2,500 words)

The first volume of ESIR (deadline for submission of papers is 31st of March 2016) focuses on the following key topics in social innovation research:

  • Measuring social innovation
  • Social impact
  • Social value

All papers will be double-blind reviewed.
