Saturday, 25th October 2014 was the so called ‘Linux Day‘. The overall aim of this annual event is the improvement of the web. The 2014 edition of the Linux Day was dedicated to the growing community of people, groups, and projects that support the development of open software and contents. In Florence, the event was organised in collaboration with Wikipedia, FabLab, Ninux, and CoderDojo, at the venues of Le Murate and Impact Hub Florence. Freedom, security, and the role of education were the key topics. These topics were discussed with the association CoderDojo that teaches basic programming skills and the responsible use of the internet to children and adolescents.
