A scientific report on the “Role of Social Innovations in Regional Societal Development” was published in the recent “Collected Papers and Reports of ISEDT RAS’s Scientific Council”. The report by Terebova S.V., Kuzmin I.V., Mukhacheva S.V. reflects a number of results of the social innovation and consolidation studies of 2012 and 2013 and was in particular devoted to an analysis of social problems that have an effect on economic development. Social innovation – especially its humanitarian component – was discussed. Moreover social innovation was examined as an aspect of theoretical and methodological approaches in the context of the improvement of life quality. The report investigates the character of social innovations, singles out their features and suggests a possible classification.
