The international conference “Social Innovation 2015: Pathways to Social Change” was a great success. In particular “pathways” proved to become most promising because of co-production by the five major EU funded projects projects involved: based on such a structured approach, social innovation experts representing a world-wide range of socio-economic and cultural perspectives met in an organised way. Their professional fields of interest, as well as deliberations on diverse working contexts opened up many doors for future collaboration among institutions from science and research on one hand, and organisations from public, business and civil society sectors sectors on the other hand.
Yet also the sheer numbers of participants, the diversity of activities within and communications about the conference were impressive: more than 320 participants from 44 countries across the globe have informed about latest research results and exchanged experiences and in the plenaries, the 22 parallel sessions and workshops as well as during the 3 excursions. In addition 106 people followed us on Twitter with amounting 506 tweets in total.
