Content from SI-DRIVE for the Iranian audience was presented at the ‘Iranian National Excellence Award (INEA) Forum’ on 23rd February 2016. Prof. Thomas Andersson (IKED) held a keynote speech. The event was held at the IRIB international conference hall, one of Iran’s major conference centres, and attended by more than 300 participants notably from the private sector. In his presentation, Thomas Andersson surveyed the Iranian innovation system and the roles of different stakeholders within it. Based on SI-DRIVE methodology, he highlighted the role of social innovation in creating resilience and agility. Moreover, the presentation addressed the role of innovation in Iran’s development which can be designated as quite ‘expectable’ due to the reduction of international sanctions. The country is already ambitious in preparing the re-integration within the world economy.
