Workshop “Social Work in Ageing and Urbanisation – International Experience & China’s Development”

On May 13th, 2017 several international research institutes including Zhejiang University, Orlando University, Michigan State University, University of New South Wales co-organised the international conference “Social Work in Ageing and Urbanisation International Experience & China’s Development” at Zhejiang University (which is also SI-DRIVE partner), Hangzhou, China.

Around 70 people attended the conference which was sponsored by the Ford Foundation, the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Social Science Fund of Zhejiang Province. About twenty of them were 20 international scholars from five different countries, as well as from several Chinese Universities.

The SI-DRIVE project and specific SI-DRIVE research cases in the policy field health and social care were presented by Prof. Ka Lin (Zhejiang University). The cases also refer to the innovation practices in Hanghzou and Zhejiang province, where issues like smart elderly care, voluntary care for elderly people, etc. become more and more relevant. Established on those case studies, Prof. Ka Lin presented his research findings on integrated care and smart care.
